indeed

"Love, I believe, descends. Parents love their children more than children can their parents, so that children can only entier into the fulness of the parents' love by becoming parents themselves."

Bishop King
I think this is so true. What do you think?

  2. This is lovely and so perfectly said. I hadn't thought of it in those terms, as "descending", but so absolutely true.

  3. This is so true. I never appreciated even the small things my parents did like laundry or cooking 3 healthy meals a day until I had kids of my own to do it for. And I'm sure my kids will one day understand why I get tears in my eyes for little things like when they ride a bike for the first time.

Definitely. I never appreciated my parents more than when I became a parent. Well said.

  8. It's beautiful, and so true.

I need to remember this when my almost 9 year old daughter is taking me for granted. Which is pretty much all the time. She'll "get it" one day, just like I do now.

  9. Yes, I think this is absolutely true. There is nothing more rewarding than to watch my grown-up daughter being such a loving mother to her little daughter. I can see it "descending" and am thankful.

  10. Yes, wholeheartedly. I also think there is this little thing called perspective. You as a parent are not appreciated or understood by your children until they can step into your shoes, by having a child. Then...the lightbulb is lit.

Yes, you never realizes how much your parents loved you until you have a child who has the same pull on your heart as you know you do their's.
