getting ready

Winter has come to New York, at long last. We shivered our way through the West Village today and admired the architecture along one of our frequent routes. Isn't this street quaint?

I went shopping on Friday afternoon, and the streets and shops all looked so cozy as the sun was setting. This is my favorite time of the year, when the days are short and the light showing from windows is so inviting. I can't think of a more wonderful place to celebrate Christmas than this city.

I found some new favorite shops, if you're interested. There is so much inspiration to be found in this city.

  2. Just stumbled across your blog. My first grandchild is soon to be born, and, after having my last homeschooled child graduate last spring, your activities and field trips with your daughter have whet my appetite to be able to do these things with the new member of the family.

And then I saw that you had stumbled across Surma, the Ukrainian store. Many years ago I bought my first pysanky decorating kit from them. SInce then, I have had two of my eggs shown at the White House sponsored State Easter Egg Display.

    Thanks for all the inspiration!!
