Knitters, I need your help!

Two quick items before we get back to book week:

1. Does anyone recall who wrote the pattern for the Saturday Market Bag on Magknits? I've had a number of queries for the original pattern (I had done some modifications to the pattern for my version) over the past few days; apparently the Magknits site is down (gone?) and it's no longer available. I don't have the pattern and can't give it out without permission.

Update: Thanks, everyone! Jodi has re-posted the pattern on her blog, and you can find it via this link.

2. Knitters wanted: I have two lovely bundles of yarn, a pattern, and an idea. I'm looking for an expert knitter (or maybe two) who can make a couple of kid-sized cardigans before Quilt Market on May 16 (I'll need them before I leave on the 13th). Any takers? I want to do it myself soooo badly but just don't have the time these days. Besides, I have sizing issues when I knit.

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

  2. I made that, and according to my Ravelry it's by Jodie Danenberg. I hadn't thought I'd ever made anything from Magknits but apparently I was wrong! I love my bag and use it all the time. Hope the pattern can find a new home somewhere (b/c Magknits is indeed gone, I believe).

  3. Hello! They might not appreciate the shout-out, but check out the blogs of "zebraknits" and "a knitter in queens". They both are expert knitters. I don't know them personally, though, and don't know if they can do the work.

  4. p.s., By "if they can do the work", I mean they might not have the time or the inclination to do the work. They definitely are capable, though!

I live in Brooklyn and can knit a cardigan for you (kid-sized), if you still need one. Does it need to be an original pattern or is a pattern from a book okay?

Good luck on finding the pattern for the market bag!

  9. You can still get a cached version of the pattern by doing a Google search. It's not ideal, but it gets you the bare bones of the pattern.

  11. funny you mention the Sat. market bag, I just made a copy for myself last week. My link is now broken, but I can scan the pattern and the modifications in on Mon if you still want it. Let me know.
    Good luck other wise.

I could help out and knit a sweater for you by then. Lemme know! :)

Bummer about MagKnits, I'm glad the people on Ravelry are trying to get all the designers to add their patterns on there though.

  16. Hi Liesl.

You and I spoke awhile ago when your patterns first came out...

I have been knitting since I was 4 and I have worked in a yarn shop here in St Paul Mn for 6 1/2 years now... (I can knit and crochet!)

I would love to knit for you!
