prints, prints, prints

Dig my 1970's vibe retro rain boots?

We went to the Liberty of London for Target preview sale yesterday after Heather called to say it was well worth the trip. I was hoping for an umbrella and maybe that fabulous raincoat, but very little was left when we arrived. There were plenty of rain boots (I'm sure we'll all be seeing the boots everywhere now!) and those ubiquitous long strapless sundresses that I just don't understand.

We did quite well in the girls' department, however: we purchased two dresses and a swimsuit for Tsia, and I found two girls' dresses for myself that I'll be wearing as tunics under jackets this spring, and with shorts or skirts this summer. (So I guess there is an advantage to being small- busted at times...)

Target and Liberty really did a wonderful job with this collection. Of course the fabric isn't the same quality as the original Tana lawn, and the dress styles are very simple. But the prints are clear and detailed and the collection looks great as a whole. Very fun!

  1. I haven't been to my Target in over a week- should pop in and have a look. (I don't get that sundress, either).

  2. I was wondering about the fabrics... would they be the lovely Liberty quality or just the Liberty floral patterns?

I need to get over there and check it out.

  3. I was wondering if the quality was going to be different. Love the boots - those are great. Carm would love it if I would get rid of my grass-green rainboots.

And, I hear ya on the strapless dresses. I'm not shoulder-worthy.

  4. I absolutely loved the way they set up the pop-up store inside! It was really beautiful how they melded all of the prints together to create such a cool environment!

  6. Leisel, you're a genius! I would have NEVER considered buying something for myself out of the little girls' section, yet I came away with a dress and a top for myself-- thanks for the idea!

  7. I'm sad that I missed seeing the pop-up store but I did manage to find some things at the regular target. And you're right -- the quality is not quite the usual liberty quality but still very nice.

    Your boots are cute!

  8. Couldn't resist the wavy floral bedspread and shams, even though I had to order the second online at a steep mark up - perfect new bedding for spring! (at a fraction of what the cotton would have cost me to make 'em myself.)
