The other bag

Here is the elusive bag from last week. I snapped some really quick photos of it on Saturday morning at Purl, before the light was very good (note that fabulous wall covered with embroidery hoops - very pretty!). But you can get the general idea of this tote, which converts to a backpack by pulling on the straps.

This bag will be another class at Purl, offered on Tuesday nights in May. It includes a zippered interior pocket and several interior pockets for cell phone, pens, etc. And that cute buttoned pocket on the front. It's not difficult to make, but there are lots of parts to cut out (interfacing, etc.).

Hope you had a good weekend! We didn't make it out to Brooklyn as hoped, but we will go very soon. And I hope to take photos!

  9. I love it too....and happen to agree that you should offer the pattern for purchase. I know that this can be rather time consuming...and your plate is rather full but I just can't drive from Philadelphia to NY on Tuesdays....or I'd just take the class!

Thanks for sharing. I adore your work!

The bag is wonderful and I really like the way you put the fabrics together. You have a great eye. I cast my vote (again, she says, greedily) for a tutorial.

Oh yes! A tutorial for the convertible bag would be lovely for those of us landlocked in the midwest, unable to pop by Manhattan for (what I'm sure are) your great classes.

you're killing me with all these great bags! and yes, we'd all (well, those of us way too far away to come to a class) love it if patterns/tutorials were available for purchase. perhaps sending out copies of your class materials wouldn't be too much extra work? would that be ok with purl? could i remember how to use the shift key?

I love this bag, I need this bag! Do to multiple back/joint problems I shouldn't be using a hand held tote r shoulder bag, but I hate backpacks. A backpack that turns into a "normal" bag when it's not actually on my back is perfect. Will zoom over to purchase this pattern right now.
Thank you for designing this just for me ;-)
