As promised

It's sunny outside, and I remembered to take some photos before delivering this bag to Purl, where it will join it's sister. This is a fairly simple tote bag which I'll be teaching for the level 2 sewing class at Purl. I like it because the oval bottom and the seam-inserted handles make it easy to assemble, but the pattern still includes a zippered inside pocket, some topstitching, and a lining. That way we'll cover lots of ground without overwhelming anyone.

I'm happy with the purple and yellow color combination, and the big graphic polka dots combine nicely with the lining. But my favorite part is that purple zippered pocket inside the tote. It's an unexpected surprise.

And here are a few more photos, mostly because I don't have anything else to say.

The prototype turned out ok as well, which doesn't always happen.

It's a beautiful bag and I'd be over to Purl like a shot if it just wasn't quite such a long way. I'd love to learn how to make something like that.

Oh... I wish I could take your class, too. And not just because of the yellow polka dots--although I'm digging those.

I love the bag, Liesl (the colors, the size, the shape, and, indeed, the inside zipper!) -- wish I could sew that way (or take your class...).

Please, please, please make this an online tutorial at Purl once you have taught your class! I don't live in New York any more so I can't sign up and it is a great bag!

It is a beautiful bag! I love the shape. Oh, and since I have a two year old son, I was wondering what the name of the animal game is from the last post. I think he would love it.
