I don't even know if they still sell this stuff but I remember having really good luck getting stains out of old baby clothes by soaking in a product called BIZ.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15639962.post-1149045297866112782006-05-30T23:14:00.000-04:002006-05-30T23:14:00.000-04:00I was going to help you out ont he linen stains f...I was going to help you out ont he linen stains front, but I think that's covered. We have a product in Oz called napisan - actually developed for soaking baby nappies (diapers) - that can shift anything with a long enough hot water soak.

I had a similar experience in cleaning out my partner's grandmother's place. She was a hoarder extraordinaire, and her daughter (Dave's mum) was uninterested in the vast majority of stuff I thought were gems - perhaps a little distance helps. It's one of those terribly big life milestones, so full of memory and thought and sadness and discovery. I hope you get the time to really digest it well.soozhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14784397133575053048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15639962.post-1149034864925662602006-05-30T20:21:00.000-04:002006-05-30T20:21:00.000-04:00This post reminds me a lot of a few years ago with...This post reminds me a lot of a few years ago with my own grandparents. It is bittersweet. I found several clothing boxes of used and straightened out aluminum foil! I agree with both the sunlight and Biz comments. Soak them in Biz and lay them in the grass on a sunny afternoon. I haven't met many stains that can match that--even vintage ones!Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05870438752120249448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15639962.post-1149002943758956642006-05-30T11:29:00.000-04:002006-05-30T11:29:00.000-04:00My aunt collects linens, and I know that she has g...My aunt collects linens, and I know that she has good results soaking them in Biz. I had a similar expereince w/my grandmother, cleaning out her house. Thousands and thousands of plastic bags! Ancient tylenol! But I found some gems as well....vintage tupperware, lovely baking equipment (she was a serious baker!) and other cooking supplies. I have some of her fancy things, but its the everyday things I like the most. The tupperware and metal cake-carrier are real favorites.Suzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04128068585427038673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15639962.post-1148975375382936472006-05-30T03:49:00.000-04:002006-05-30T03:49:00.000-04:00Sounds like you had an emotional time. What a lovel...Sounds like you had an emotional time. What a lovely record letters make. One of the most natural ways to remove stains in old linens is actually sunlight! It can take a few days but most stains do disappear if you hang them outside for a while.Kristyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00594821266695081190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15639962.post-1148956696085913292006-05-29T22:38:00.000-04:002006-05-29T22:38:00.000-04:00Ooh, Stephanie, thanks!
